McCoy Trailers Division is a market leader in the design and build of top-quality, long-lasting heavy duty trailers including lowboys, flat decks, oilfield floats, log trailers and specialty custom trailers.
We are currently recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager charged with developing and delivering industry leading products and custom solutions for the mobile heavy equipment market while overseeing the design team. This position is located in Penticton, British Columbia.
Requirements:
- Build and maintain a highly knowledgeable and motivated team of design engineers, technologists, drafting professionals
- Conduct performance reviews of Engineering department staff
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems in order to optimize process efficiency and product quality
- Work schedules and budgets related to the design, integration and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems
- Approve and overseeing the design and implementation process
- Ensuring work is completed in the required time frame and budget requirements
- Ensure the equipment and systems adhere to safety requirements, as well as local and federal industry regulations
- Identify and implement various continuous improvement projects
- Provide ongoing coaching to ensure technical excellence, work completion and responsiveness to customer needs
- Field and delegate incoming warranty claims
Qualifications:
- 8 - 10 years of management experience in a Lean manufacturing facility
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering and a Mechanical P. Eng designation (or comparable foreign designation) with the ability to register with APEGBC. Foreign candidates will be considered
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing combined with commitment to above average Health and Safety
- Excellent communication, and problem solving skills with an above average recognized ability to lead top productive teams
- Proven managerial competence with the ability to motivate a highly productive team
