Salary
McCoy Drilling and Completions designs, manufactures, services and sells drilling and completion equipment for the global energy industry. This division operates out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Broussard and Lafayette, Louisiana; and Houston, Texas. The Houston office includes the international sales and marketing team, an engineer design group and provides calibration services to many of McCoy’s Houston based customers.
We have an opening for an Engineering Technician who reports to the Senior Project Engineer. The Technician is responsible for the support of Engineering as required and complying with quality system procedures. The individual provides immediate assistance to manufacturing/service division by solving problems during the production process in a quick and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Interface between manufacturing and engineering (30%)
- Update drawings and bill of materials as built modifications (20%)
- Create, revise and maintain pick lists for assemblies and tools
- Develop CAD/CAM interface for waterjet cell (20%)
- Detail drawings of new parts and assemblies (20%)
- Log and distribute Request for Engineering Action and Engineering Change Notices (REA’s and ECN’s) (10 %)
- Maintain assigned equipment and work area in accordance with procedures and standards
- React to change productively, work as member of team and handle other tasks as assigned
- Required to work 40 hours per week, with little to no travel, in an office/ shop floor environment
- During absences this person fills in for the Design Engineer
Qualifications:
- 2 year technical degree or 2+ years of related technical experience desired
- Recent graduates considered based on course work and grades
- AutoCAD, Solidworks is a plus, MS Office, Word and Excel
- Ability to use various measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
