The CLINCHER® Valve-Boring Machine is a remotely operated tool designed to drill through closed gate or ball valves, with a medium stroke of 20” from top to bottom and variable drill speeds up to 150 RPM. The tool also features an equalizing loop assembly with a working pressure of 20,000 psi. A key benefit of the machine’s design is the shaft seals on the hydraulic motors, which make them suitable for underwater use and dripless quick disconnects. The design also includes a hydraulic rotary drive, vertical feed system and accessible protective cage to protect the tool from moving parts. It further includes a 1-1/2”-diameter polished rod, made using 17-4 PH stainless steel, which accepts #4 Morse taper drill accessories. To ease clamp removal, the rod bearings contain brass liner for rod protection and retainer housing. For maximum compatibility with H2S applications, the flanges are made from alloy steel with maximum hardness of 22 HRC.
