Job Overview:
The Service Technician, reporting to the Manager, Service & Rental, will work alongside the Hemisphere Sales and Service team to secure and grow service revenue for McCoy Global.  This position will serve as customer contact on specific technical and service related problems. This will include training on maintenance/service of various McCoy products as well as creating check sheets and certification for commissioning of equipment on customer locations.  The position is responsible for maintaining an extremely high level of customer service and professionalism while repairing, maintaining and calibrating equipment.

What you’ll do:

  • Travel to customer sites globally for any installing, assembling, servicing, repairing, or tear down of company equipment and calibration jobs
  • Troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems, complex PLC operated equipment, and complex electronic systems
  • Interacting with customers and ensuring that their concerns are appropriately addressed in a professional and courteous manner
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance problems on-site
  • Escalate serious or multi-vendor issues when necessary to the Service Manager
  • Perform calibrations on most systems while recording and maintaining all calibration and service records
  • Comprehend instructions and ask questions to clarify discrepancies
  • Conduct pre-job Risk Assessments on all locations before carrying out any work.
  • Coordinate work scopes and arrange travel to customer sites.
  • Conduct product training to customers and ensure they are properly educated on all McCoy product
  • Upsell McCoy Global products while on customer sites

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related industry experience preferred
  • Previous drilling or field experience an asset
  • Previous technical or specialized training an asset

  • Ensure inventory movements are adequately reported in the system. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions and drive continuous improvement and implementation of processes and practices.
  • Receive work orders, track the status of open work orders and complete all work orders after ensuring the proper material costs and work hours have been computed and properly accounted.
  • Check availability of items to be issued or shipped by checking inventory records or conducting a spot inventory of required items.
  • Communicate with the sales team about current stock and potential issues with orders
  • Periodic review and disposition of excess, surplus, obsolete and scrap inventory
  • Coordinate with sales, warehouse, logistics and operation teams to ensure timely delivery of all sales orders.
  • Keep back order file in established sequence and release back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
  • Audit processes along with paper flow errors to identify inconsistencies that affect inventory accuracy.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience with inventory control in a manufacturing setting
  • Detailed understanding of MRP and ERP systems a plus (Bonus if you know EPICOR!)
