The KT5500 hydraulic tubing tong can handle tubulars as small as 2-1/16" and as large as 5-1/2" in diameter. Wraparound jaw and die technology for the two tong jaws is available. Also available with low-marking CHROMEMASTER™ "Head" jaw assembly mated to a 5-1/2" tong. Tong can be mounted on either a CLINCHER® or FARR® hydraulic backup. Available with McCoy's patented WinCatt® data acquisition and torque control system for the make-up of tubular connections.

The CLE5500UHT tubing tong is an open-throat design that can handle tubulars as large as 5-1/2" in diameter in the tong and 6-1/4" in the backup. The hydraulic backups can accommodate tubulars as large as 4" or 4-1/2". The system features two jaws in the tong and three jaws in the backup, which encircle the pipe. Wraparound jaws and dies, combined with our low-friction jaw technology, constant radial load cam system, and compensating jaw design, provide exceptional gripping capabilities with reduced pipe deformation, stress, and marking. Using our non-marking aluminum die system or GRITFACE® Dies in the tong and backup will allow stainless steel corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) to be run as quickly and easily as traditional tongs run conventional steel tubulars.
